The Story:
On June 6-9th 2002, we went to see our good friends Jerry and Ta get married near their home in Brunswick, Maine. We became good friends with them when they lived in Seattle; Jerry was in Megan's graduate school class and Ta was a few years older in the same department. They moved to Maine when Ta got a faculty position at Bowdoin College.

We flew into Boston and planned to spend the night there, rent a car, and drive to Maine the next day. Megan had not been to Boston before so we booked a hotel near the all the historic sites in the North End. Because it was Harvard's Graduation Weekend, hotel rooms for the weekend were tough to find so I thought we were pretty lucky to have found a good location. But, when we got to the hotel, the receptionist informed us that the room had been damaged by a leak and we couldn't stay there. Drat! To find this hotel I had to call everywhere a month before and, since it was already 6pm, I was worried we were going to have to sleep in the streets. Not to worry. The Harborside Inn proved to be a classy operation and had already found us another room in another fancy hotel, paid for it, and paid for the cab ride to the new hotel! Fantastic way to start the vacation.

After a good dinner in Boston and some sightseeing, we got in the car and headed to Maine. Jerry and Ta had everyone stay at this beautiful Bed and Breakfast called the Harpswell Inn (picture below). It was located right on the water and had a wonderful view of all the islands and peninsulas in that area.
